The Academy Award winning film for best picture was The Best Years of Our Lives.
A dramatic war film focused on three veterans who return home from WWII to Boone City, a small town. They find that their lives have been irrevocably changed by their military experiences.
One man has lost his hands and faces the loss of his fiancee and his family as he struggles to cope with his disability.
Another returns to find his family has grown and changed while he was away.
The third man returns to a loveless marriage and a meaningless job that he struggles to adjust to while he finds himself falling for a friend's daughter.
Each tries to find a way to enjoy their lives again, hoping that the war years will not end up being the best years of their lives.
