In 1962, The Beverly Hillbillies premiered and began its 247-show run until its final episode in 1971. With a unique cast, vibrant characters, lots of guest stars, and great locations, the show became a tremendous success with a huge following.
The show is still available in reruns on TVLand and other cable stations. The show has also been released in a series of DVDs by season. |

Show Concept:
- The series was built around the misadventures of a hillbilly family transplated to Beverly Hills after finding oil on their Appalachian property. Their magnificent home, replete with a "cement pond," formed the backdrop for most episodes, although many were shot on location all around the posh neighboring communities.
